Eating Right

What does it mean to eat right?
Eating right means eating in the ways that support your body in being the best it can be. That’s going to be different for each and every one of us because we are all different!  The truth is what to eat is a complicated and convoluted matter. The subject is confusing, so figuring it all out can become a full-time job. Worse yet, everyone seems to have a different opinion about what to eat, how to eat it, when to eat it, how to cook it (or whether to cook it at all), and a host of many other factors that comprise the subject of healthy eating.

It all paid off in the long run!
While I have no initials after my name as a nutrition or exercise expert, I have been studying and experimenting to determine what works for me for most of my adult life.

But after years of failed diets and tens of thousands of dollars spent on gimmicks and products guaranteed to work (by great marketers who could make me believe anything), I was still holding on to the 30 pounds I had gained during three pregnancies (ten pounds with each baby).

FYI those “babies” are now adults with children of their own!

In my book, The First Mile Is the Hardest,
I share the three simple habits that worked for me and helped me cut through the confusion. My breakthrough came in developing habits for eating right vs. focusing on what I eat. The truth is I hate diets and I hate feeling restricted (but yeah, I also hated the 30 extra pounds).

Since I really dislike feeling restricted or depriving myself of something I love, I have to share one of my all-time favorite “eating right” indulgences.

Actually, it’s not really an indulgence in the true sense of the word, because it’s good for you, and get this, it’s CHOCOLATE!!  Combined with my healthy coffee, it’s now a delicious daily treat and a necessity! What is it you might ask?  I call it Twisted Coffee.

Cacao Bliss combined with healthy coffee and keto creamer is my go-to every morning. I can’t quite put into words how fabulous this superfood really is. I feel indulged, energized, focused and very chocoholic happy. Try it today and be prepared to fall deeply, delightfully in love.

Break the rules!
To find your own eating right method, the most important rule is don’t follow the rules. Never follow someone else’s diet or put yourself into a box of rules for eating and losing weight. We’re all individuals!

It’s important to realize it all starts with your gut health, and that means something different to everyone. Some foods create an inflammatory response in certain individuals (that is real and physical) and others just drop the pounds off like butter melting! (For me, that means stop eating carbs!)

There are specific ways to figure out what works for you. Diets are not a one-size-fits-all plan. It’s easy to lose weight when you learn what’s right for you, so take the time to learn how you should be eating. It’s well worth the effort.
